An announcement from Zenreach
As part of our mission to provide the best possible service to our clients, we’re constantly refining our device-sensing technology so we can provide you with the highest-quality data on your customers’ behavior. Today, we’re excited to share some of the precision filters we’ve built to hone the accuracy of how our access points measure Walk-Ins, Walk-Throughs, and Walk-Bys at your business location(s):
- Location-specific signal strength thresholds: Signal strength is a measurement of connection quality between an access point and a customer’s device—be it a smartphone, tablet, or laptop—and is the most effective way to determine whether someone has actually entered your business. We’ve custom evaluated each individual location and have implemented a maximum RSSI setting to indicate when someone is in your business versus near it.
- Dwell time: This is an indicator of how long a patron spends at a location. We’ve implemented a default setting of 3 minutes minimum to ensure that only true customers are being counted.
- Store hours: We’ve developed a filter that allows us to input the store hours for a business location so we can use this information to classify Walk-Ins, Walk-Throughs, and Walk-bys—and also to omit any visitors when the business is closed.
- Internet of Things (IoT): Another filter we’ve built allows us to blacklist non-patron WiFi-enabled devices (like smart speakers and in-store iPads) to prevent them from being counted as customers.
As our product and engineering teams work toward implementing these updates, you may notice a change in your Walk-In, Walk-Through, and Walk-By numbers. Don’t be alarmed—this is to be expected given the new parameters we’ve set up to more precisely measure your customers’ actions.
If you have any questions about these changes or any of our products, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
